How to make the sazerac cocktail

If you’re an old fashioned fan — you have to try a sazerac!

We like to say the sazerac is like the old fashioned’s European cousin.

Here’s our recipe — give it a try and let us know what you think!

Recipe

  1. Add a splash of absinthe to your cocktail glass

  2. Light it on fire

  3. Set the glass to the side and allow it to cool

  4. In a mixing glass, add:

    • 2 ounces bourbon rye

    • .25 ounces simple syrup

    • 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters

    • Ice

  5. Stir

  6. Pour everything in the mixing glass into your cocktail glass with the cooled absinthe

  7. Express and garnish with a lemon swath
