The best aperitif? A traditional absinthe drip

In our opinion, modern day dinner parties are dreadfully missing two things: apertifs and digestifs.

One of the best and simple — yet unique — apertifs is, in our opinion, an absinthe drip. If you’d like to make it yourself before dinner, follow the recipe below and check out the video to follow along!

Recipe

  1. Add 1 ounce of absinthe to your cocktail glass

  2. Place an absinthe spoon across the top of your cocktail glass

  3. Place one brown sugar cube on top of the spoon

  4. Pour about 1 ounce of cold water over the cube to allow the sugar to disentegrate.

    1. This part is to taste — for example, if you would like the entire sugar cube to dissolve into the absinthe, you can do that, or if you just want a little bit to dissolve in the glass, you can do that as well.
